ETL<\/strong> stands for Electrical Testing Laboratories, a US-based organization founded by Thomas Edison in 1896. It holds high prestige in the US and globally. Similar to UL and CSA, ETL can conduct testing and issue the ETL Listed Mark based on UL standards or US national standards. Any electrical or mechanical product can undergo EMC testing. ETL inspection service procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. IFA (Initial Factory Audit):<\/span> VIS will conduct an initial factory assessment. When a factory first applies for the ETL mark with Intertek, Intertek will request VIS to visit the factory to inspect and assess whether their documents, procedures, and processes comply with Intertek’s requirements. The factory’s actual processes and products must adhere to Intertek’s procedures. After VIS submits a completion report, the factory will be granted a certificate allowing them to use the ETL mark.<\/li>\n
  2. FUA (Follow-up Audit): This is a follow-up factory assessment. After the initial factory assessment, VIS will conduct re-assessments quarterly. These assessments are unannounced to verify if the factory continues to comply with the registered regulations. They also check if the product components match the registered information and if all safety tests have been conducted. This is one of the mandatory procedures VIS performs when inspecting factories.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
