Like other countries, Vietnam has public holidays when all people get paid annual leave. Vietnam\u2019s public holidays are administered by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam (MOLISA). Vietnamese people get from 13 to 17 day-leave per year. When a public holiday falls into a weekend \u2013 either Saturday or Sunday \u2013 the previous Friday or following Monday will be considered a paid holiday.<\/p>\n

  1. New Year\u2019s Day \u2013 Gregorian calendar (T\u1ebft D\u01b0\u01a1ng L\u1ecbch):<\/strong> Tuesday, January 1, 2024: 1 day off<\/li>\n
  2. Vietnamese New Year (T\u1ebft Nguy\u00ean \u0110\u00e1n):<\/strong> From Thursday, February 8, 2024 (the 29th day of the 12th lunar month in the year of the Rabbit) to Wednesday, February 14, 2024 (the 5th day of the first lunar month in the year of the Dragon): 7 days off<\/li>\n
  3. Hung Kings\u2019 Festival (Gi\u1ed7 t\u1ed5 H\u00f9ng V\u01b0\u01a1ng):<\/strong> Friday, April 19, 2024: 1 day off. However, since it falls on a Friday, Vietnamese workers will get an extra day off on Thursday or the following Monday depending on the company’s arrangement.<\/li>\n
  4. Liberation Day\/ Reunification Day (Ng\u00e0y Th\u1ed1ng Nh\u1ea5t \u0110\u1ea5t n\u01b0\u1edbc):<\/strong> Tuesday, April 30, 2024: 1 day off<\/li>\n
  5. International Labor Day (Ng\u00e0y Qu\u1ed1c T\u1ebf Lao \u0110\u1ed9ng)<\/strong>: Wednesday, May 1, 2024: 1 day off.
    \nThe holiday schedule for April 30 and May 1, 2024 officially lasts for 5 consecutive days from Saturday, April 27, 2024 to Wednesday, May 1, 2024. According to the schedule announced by the state<\/li>\n

This three-day celebration is a time for Vietnamese people to honor their national pride. Expect to see patriotic displays with the Vietnamese flag flying high and large portraits of Ho Chi Minh adorning city walls.
